The IMAGO MEDIA COMPANY was established by its Directors, Barry John and Sanjay Sujitabh, in April 1997, and its status was enhanced to a private limited company in October 1998.

The company was initially located in Brahma Studio, Film City, Noida, but in June 2002 shifted to new premises in Sudhan Bhavan, Saidulajab, in south Delhi. In March 2007, a further relocation brought the company to Kotia Nirman, Andheri West, in Mumbai.

A ten-year period of intense activity and growth has seen the company fulfill its objectives and become a name synonymous with professionalism of the highest quality. Operations began with the establishment of the

IMAGO ACTING SCHOOL, which offered the most comprehensive and effective short-term training courses available anywhere. Relocating in Mumbai in 2007, IMAGO ACTING SCHOOL has become THE BARRY JOHN ACTING STUDIO.

By July 2000, IMAGO CASTING AGENCY, and even though opportunities for actors in Delhi are severely limited, many of them were helped to secure contracts with television production companies, corporate and advertising film-makers, FM radio stations, and music-video producers.

In July 2001, the IMAGO THEATRE GROUP was founded as a registered society. it afforded interested actors the opportunity of further development and experience, and provided them a launching platform for their careers.
